Daddy goes to India!

Daddy flew around the world in 7 days...really!  He had a work meeting in Chennai, India.  On the way there he flew to Frankfort, Germany and on the way back went to Bangkok, Tai Pai and Soul!  WOW what a trip.  Here are a few pics from his adventure.  A little blurry but just glad he took a few....

He said there were lots of slums and we are VERY blessed to be living where we are!

Daddy doesn't get scared ever and even he had to close his eyes when they were driving him around.  Everyone shares the road, cars, people, rick shaws, even cows!

Daddy always comes home bearing gifts!  This time you scored big with jewelry, 2 snow globes one from India and one from Bangkok and other little tresures

 We made Daddy a welcome home sign and Dane you were drawing away.  I was in the other room and I heard you yell "Made a duck, Made a duck!"  I ran in and sure enough you made a duck!  WOW I think we have a little Picaso on our hand (or maybe some good luck with the marker:))  I promise there was NO help!

Most mornings on the way to daycare I take the long way so we can drive by the beach/ferry AND hopefully see a train.  They always beg to go on the ferry so I said when Nonni comes.  So for weeks every morning they would chant NONNI FERRY as we drove by the beach:)  SO when Nonni arrived we were sure to take a trip on the FERRY!

Sydney loves to clean more that anyone I know.  I looked up on the ferry only to find her sweeping the deck and of course Dane had to have a turn (how on earth did she scope that out)....

Of course we had to stop for an ice cream cone even if it was COLD out it still tastes good!

Nonni always comes with an extra suitcase filled to the brim with gifts.  These were one of the gifs on her way out...flags to put on our deck:)

St. Patty's Day with Nonni

We had a very memorable St. Patty's day!  You two came home with LOTS of green crafts.  Mommy planned on a great corned beef dinner.  However, when I cut into it, it needed about 5 more hours...OOPS!  SO we headed for pizza (I think you liked that option better:))

Weekend with Nonni!

Mommy and Daddy went to a wedding downtown Seattle and spent the night at our friends Sam and Matt's new condo downtown.  Nonni SPOILED you rotten and you LOVED it!

 Nonni took you for ice cream, donuts, made crafts, made rice krispie treats yes SPOLED you...

Nonni got you both dressed and ready to go to church (way to go Nonni)!  However, it was daylight savings so she missed it by an hour....good effort though.  So Nonni took you to get donuts instead and it looks like there was a BIG lollypop that was purchased too!

 Thanks Nonni for a FUN weekend!  We LOVE you!

Happy Fat Tuesday!

In our house we find every reason to CELEBRATE!  So we decided to have a little fat Tuesday party with our little family:)  We had beads, made a king's cake and then spread the love through the neighborhood....

As part of the celebration of Mardi Gras, it is traditional to bake an oval cake in honor of the three kings - the King Cake. The shape of a King Cake symbolizes the unity of faiths. Each cake is decorated in the traditional Mardi Gras colors: purple represents justice, green represents faith and gold represents power. A small baby, symbolizing the baby Jesus, is baked into each cake.  Mommy didn't have a little baby so we put an almond in the middle.  Whoever gets that piece has good luck that year.  Daddy cut the cake (so I promise there was no cheating) and mommy got the surprise almond:)

Miss Syd even made a fat Tuesday crown today too!  There was too much "King cake" so we decided to take some around to the neighbors.  Syd and Dane loved to ring the door and shout "Happy Fat Tuesday!"
